Colin has almost 18 years of experience at Ewals and is an expert in credit management. Like Colin, René also has years of experience in the industry.

Ewals Cargo Care is a Dutch logistics company founded in 1906 and , in addition to its headquarters in the Netherlands, has branches throughout Europe. The company offers various logistics services, including road transport, intermodal transport, Control Tower Management warehouse and distribution services and international forwarding, focusing on sectors such as Automotive, Healthcare, FMCG and Industry. René was pleasantly surprised when he started working at Ewals and discovered that the company goes beyond the flat organisational structure of transport companies. He noted that it employs many engineers who focus on optimising transport lines and that there is much more going on behind the scenes than he previously thought. Colin confirmed that, despite the size of the company, there is a personal working atmosphere and recognition. For example, CEO Bram Ewals regularly chats with staff, which is appreciated by many. Work during the pandemic: how Ewals continued its operations
Ewals Cargo Care has a corporate culture where people feel valued and involved. This has helped the company become stronger, especially during the time when a lot of distance had to be kept. But how did they actually experience that period? Lysanne Geluk asks Colin, who explains that operations continued as usual. Of course, they did notice some difference in the number of buyers at the time, but there was plenty of work for the finance department. At the time, they were very intensive in monitoring and mapping specific debtors and their limits.
In the end, Ewals certainly didn’t lose out and instead gained something valuable from it. After doing several analyses and mapping out the market and their customers, they learned a lot. For instance, they have a much better grip on their credit management processes, they engage much more with their debtors and they see the high necessity of credit management more than ever.

But how do you achieve effective credit management? It requires not only a strong team of experts, but also a well-functioning software package.
