‘My father started CreditDevice 21 years ago. He previously worked in the credit management industry and saw many improvement opportunities. Initially, he focused on outsourcing of debtor management and collection. Outsourcing was a hot topic at the time. To be able to perform debtor management better for our clients, we developed our own debtor management software after several years. Partly due to the credit crisis, we changed from an outsourcing company to an IT company, where debtor risk is an important part. We still are today. We are known as one of the best suppliers in the field of credit management software. Companies have a great need for this and enjoy working with it.’

True family business

‘CreditDevice has now grown into a real family business. My father has since stepped down; he has been succeeded as general manager by my brother Robbert. And I am responsible for marketing and communication. After first gaining experience at other companies, I started working within the company five years ago. And the company is growing fast. By now CreditDevice employs more than thirty people.’

Operating better across the board

‘Debtor management without underlying software applications costs entrepreneurs a lot of time and is also inefficient. For example, they have little visibility into non-payers or complaints. Our software picks up that sort of thing automatically. Thus, a business owner saves on FTEs and can work more efficiently. In addition, the entrepreneur has insight into all matters related to debtor management, including through very clear reports. We also have an unlimited number of users. Within a company, for example, the sales department can be granted access, thus streamlining business processes. In this way, our software not only helps in the area of credit management, but allows a company to operate more efficiently across the board.

Everything reinforces each other

‘We are constantly innovating. Think of the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to make customer processes even better. Since 2020, we also have a debtor portal, especially aimed at somewhat smaller companies that want to see which invoices are still outstanding. And a few years ago we developed new software for credit-insured companies. We built the software at the request of the market and in co-creation with Allianz Trade, Coface and Atradius. Brokers, credit insurers and CreditDevice customers alike see that optimally managing credit insurance with software is a hundred times better and prevents damages and errors. All of CreditDevice’s products are in one application and reinforce each other. The more modules a company takes off, the more insight it has and the lower the risk of non-payment. And that, of course, is ultimately the goal of every company.

‘Also built into our software is that someone automatically receives a reminder if they have paid late. This can also include a payment link or QR code. Because the easier you make it for people to pay an invoice, the better. We think along with companies about how they can best fill in the corresponding customer flow. By linking via an API with Rabo Smart Pay, we have recently been able to manage online payments for customers who bank with Rabobank. We have already connected the first customers, and they are very happy with it. Thanks to the API, they can easily link to Rabobank directly from their software system to create the payment link or QR code. That too fits in with efficient credit management.’
